Beer Bread ♥

a super easy, crowd pleasing side. plus a great way to utilize those lonely leftover beers kickin around in the fridge. this is another one of those customizable recipes where you can add whatever you feel like to compliment the meal (various herbs, olives, jalapeno…). this bread was being paired with a spicy pumpkin soup so i opted to mix in some grated cheese to cut some of that heat. beer bread can be a bit on the crumbly side, so cheese is also a delicious way to add moisture x

ingredients:
– 3 c all-purpose-flour
– 2 tbsp sugar (i used brown)
– 1 tbsp baking powder
– 1 tsp salt
– 1 bottle beer (i used a dark pumpkin beer) (can be warm or cold)
– half a stick of butter (i used unsalted)
– 3/4 c grated cheese (optional)

directions:
1. preheat oven to 350
2. mix dry ingredients
3. stir in beer (+ cheese)
4. melt butter + pour half in the pan (swish it around)
5. spread batter out in buttery pan + pour remaining butter on top
6. add a sprinkle of kosher salt or herbs on top (optional)
